How is Vtrail priced?
We plan to offer multiple subscription plans in the future, for example to provide higher limits or additional features. The exact prices and details may change over time, but there will always be a free plan so you can continue using Vtrail at no cost.
Which data is end-to-end encrypted?
Your recordings and their titles are end-to-end encrypted. They are encrypted on your device with a key derived from your password before they are sent to our servers, and the decryption key is never stored on our servers. Some metadata, such as recording duration, file size, timestamps, and basic account or device information (like your email address, language, OS version, and app version), is not end-to-end encrypted so we can provide cloud sync and operate the service, but it is protected by HTTPS in transit and secure storage on our systems.
What happens if I lose my password?
If you lose your password and cannot remember it, you will not be able to log in or decrypt your existing recordings. This is because the encryption key that protects your recordings is derived from your password on your device and is never stored by Vtrail, so we cannot recover it for you. This design means that even we cannot read your recordings, which is important for your privacy, but it also means your encrypted data cannot be recovered without your password. We strongly recommend using a password manager and keeping your password safe.
